"YOU ARE NOT ALONE"

"YOU ARE NOT ALONE" charitable event is the start of series of events organized around the same theme and concept by "NANE" and "LITTLE NANEs" dance groups. The events are entirely dedicated to children with cancer fund and to deal with their health issues. All proceeds from these events will be directed to the children and their needs.
To our great joy the following organizations have joined us for the children's cause; Ministry of Culture of Armenia, "Antares" holdings and "Ararat" TV, "Photogroup", "New project", "Radio Van", "National fund of development of cancer", "Nationa Radio of Armenia", Vahe Melkonyan. We are also joined by social organizations and individuals who will help us in our endeavor and journey, we thank them all.
To us the most important goal is to educate our children from very young age, to care, not to be indifferent to the plight of others who need help and follow and live our motto "WE ARE NOT ALONE".

We would like to bring the following facts to your attention:
Every year there are about 80 children who are diagnosed with cancer in Armenia, the total number now is over 250. Some of them are transferred to oncology section where the conditions are not the best and lacking the latest technology. To accomplish our project we offered our assistance to Doctor Grigor Badalian the head of children's oncology and chemotherapy section, Director of oncology and chemotherapy association and doctor of sciences who has gladly accepted our offer of co-operation and collaboration.
Our plan is directed at children with severe cases of cancer and their needs, to raise awareness among the public regarding their plight and circumstances.
The following events will be conducted to raise awareness and consciousness among the public.

1) Competitions in the following areas
- Public campaign advertising
- T.V. Public announcements
- Photo competition
- Journalism and photojournalism

The work submitted to the competition will be judged by an independent jury, among them TV and radio personalities, chief editors of newspapers and magazines, as well as representatives of national and international organizations and university professors and lecturers.
The main focus and purpose of all these activities and competitions are to raise awareness of the public in early diagnosis and detection of cancer in children, to provide appropriate care for all affected children, since gathered worldwide data shows most childhood cancers can be cured provided they are detected early and treated on time.

2) To reconstruct hospital rooms and playrooms and to purchase needed items to furnish them.

To keep up to date with our progress, activities and information on future events you can access our website.

"LITTLE NANES" IN BERLIN FESTIVAL

By Marieta Makaryan

"Nane" show-ballet is a young ensemble but it has already gained a lot of fans. Its repertoire includes Armenian national, classic, neoclassic, world dances, the synthesis of the Armenian national dance and jazz, tap and modern dances. Nane dance group, has travelled and performed in the USA (New York, Detroit, Los Angeles), in the Russian Federation, in Hong Kong, Lebanon, India, Turkey, Kuwait, in the United Arab Emirates, etc.
Since 2000 "Nane" show-ballet with its "Little Nanes" ensemble have become the prize-winners in several international competitions and have been awarded the title of the best dancing ensemble. In 2005 they were awarded the Grand Prix at the "The Sky is Dancing" remote video contest, Russia, and won the first four prizes in various nominations. It is worthy of notice that the founder and art-director of "Nane" show-ballet Narineh Topolyan was awarded the golden medal for the contribution in the development of the Armenian Dance and in the children's aesthetic education by the Ministry of Culture of the RA.
And these days, "Little Nanes" returned home from the Berlin "Tanzolymp" International Festival with the bear-symbols of Berlin and a silver medal. Now the number of their medals, titles of honor and certificates come to 30. They dedicated this victory to the memory of their best friend Gevor Mheryan.
Yesterday in the House of Journalists the "Little Nanes" met the journalists with spring flowers to share with them the joy and happiness of their difficult but splendid victory. Nevertheless, mass media officials and journalists instead of encouraging the little children preferred to elucidate people the same clubs and everyday issues. Narineh Topolyan told that 600 dancing groups from 25 countries participated in "Tanzolymp" festival, where 10 little "Nanes" presented the Armenian national dance, a variety dance and step and at once they gained the 10 points from the strict jury and got in the finale. Then having won the second place they participated in the gala concert.

Greetings Ms Narine,
Today by chance I heard your interview on the Internet. Let me first state that I tremendously enjoyed your articulate, perceptive and wise comments. Unfortunately the interviewer was interrupting you unnecessarily a few times. I am saddened that we had not heard the news regarding the competition that you were participating at. I am also saddened that we were not able to come and support you morally and to cheer you on.
Today at one of the churches in Berlin , the "KAMMERTON" group of young Armenians was having a concert. We are thankful and happy that groups like you are concerned and continue to work for the future of the Armenian generation. We are truly grateful for people like you.
With warm regards from Berlin

Dear Narineh,
I could not imagine that in the festival "Tanzolymp" held in Berlin there would be so many dance groups. I am very glad and proud that little "Nanes" won the silver medal in this prestigious festival.
Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!!!
The Armenian banner was flapping in the hall, and we, Armenians from France who came to Berlin to support you, watched with excitement and thought whether the Armenian government was aware of the difficult path that the group had traveled to get to Germany and to compete with 25 different dance groups. They felt the support of the country they presented. It was evident each team was the pride of its country.
Nane and little dancers, I will never forget those days, your wonderful smiles
. Be proud, you will still have a lot of medals and a long way full of victories!
Sincerely yours, Seda Djololian,
Paris, France
